iPad: It’s Official!!
The rumored Apple Tablet is called the iPad. It’s official! Sounds a bit weird and maxi-pad-ish, but whatever. It’s half an inch thin and weighs just 1.5 pounds with a 9.7 inch IPS display. It also has a 16GB to 64GB flash storage. It even has a compass
Bluetooth and Wifi of course…And omg, Jobs just said that you can fly to SF and Tokyo and watch video the whole way on one charge. That is 10 hours of video and 1 month of standby charge. OMG! He’s downloaded all these apps unmodified from the App Store. First, Facebook. He runs it in a tiny iPhone-size window oin the middle of the screen. But he can tap the “2x” button and run things full screen. It’s the same resolution, but just bigger.

Barnes & Noble’s Double Screen E-Reader
Barnes and Nobles has been developing their very own e-reader for quite some time now—and here are its first shots!
Officially to be released next week, this device features a black and white e-ink screen (just like the Kindle), but the major difference is the multitouch display like an iPhone. Barnes and Nobles will sell the books they publish at a much cheaper price than its printed counterparts, and it is said to have access to all the books scanned by Google Books project, which is great because a lot of those are out of print. The name of the gadget will be revealed very soon.
I’m not sure how I feel about e-readers, whatever the brand. I really like having a physical book where I can turn the pages, but I also love portable, sleek gadgets that save tons of space, so I guess I’m just torn.
Although I’m super excited to see how B&N does, I think I can wait until a truly unique e-reader that is pure awesomeness to come out before I make this investment…

A Cute, White Designer Netbook – HP Mini 110
Looks like the success of Vivienne Tam’s digital clutch spawned the creation of this new and much cheaper super cute white netbook. Designer Tord Boontie teams up with HP to create a lovely flora design which weaves around to create one extraordinary and sexy netbook. This new HP Mini 110 is said to feature Imprint 3D, the first ever three-dimensional surface technology which uses coats of in-mold decoration layering various inks, textures and colors to create complex and unique designs. What’s kind of neat about this netbook is that the design spills over to the palm rest and touchpad. Tord Boontie also designed 15 wallpapers, a custom theme, screen saver and icons, which of course come in the package. I really like the idea of cute, custom icons instead of the boring generic icons we’ve been seeing for decades.
Pricing begins at $399.00.

Cute Wall Art for Cute Laptop

Cute Desktop Image – ….checking!
Yes, a cute backdrop on your desktop is an absolute necessity at LIVINGcute. Both my work desktop and home laptop are decked out in MEOMI. I’m pretty happy with them.
Mari, on the other hand, is a stickler of dressing up her pink Vaio and indulges in weekly modifications of her desktop image – it keeps her consistently excited to see her laptop. And why not? You just dropped a grand on that gadget, might as well make it extra pretty.
Mari likes Meomi too but it seems they haven’t updated their selections in awhile… bummer! She also enjoys the poppy, vibrant colors of tokidoki. She mentioned that Pixelgirl has an ENDLESS amount of choices and spends her days off staring (drooling) at them for hours. Mari, you need to get out more often. Just kidding.

My Passport Essential – Portable Hard Drives
I’m all about cute, pretty things that are extremely useful and techy. This combination is almost deadly as I tend to make impulse buys just because the item is pink and has an LCD screen on it.
This time, I actually have a little story (or some reason) behind this purchase.
With everyone talking about the BIG Los Angeles earthquake, I wondered to myself what I would have in my emergency EQ kit. First, there’s the MUSTS: (water, non-perishable food, good shoes, first aid kit, passport, birth certificate, etc.)
During the past LA fires, the insurance commissioner also mentioned that you should keep a photograph inventory of your important household items so that obtaining proper insurance care will be smoother.
I started to think I’d grab my Macbook Pro. But I can’t keep my laptop tucked in my emergency kit so I started to think of a backup plan. I need an external HD. So I started browsing for the perfect drive and I stumbled upon a gorgeous and extremely useful find: My Passport Essential Portable Hard Drive. It’s cute, comes in a variety of shocking colors, it’s small (added plus), and it’s on sale at Amazon.
Now I can start backing up all my important files every once in a while and can toss it back into my EQ kit.
